Pediatric Behavioral Health Landscape Analysis:
Georgia’s Opportunity for Integrated Behavioral Health Care

With support from the Jesse Parker Williams Foundation, the TEAM UP Scaling and Sustainability Center conducted a comprehensive landscape analysis of Georgia’s pediatric behavioral health care environment. The analysis drew on interviews with system- and practice-level leaders and a review of publicly available data and policy resources.

The resulting report, Pediatric Behavioral Health Landscape Analysis: Georgia’s Opportunity for Integrated Behavioral Health Care, provides a system-level overview of pediatric behavioral health care in Georgia, highlights insights from Federally Qualified Health Centers, and outlines implications for strengthening coordinated, team-based care across the state.

Exploring Opportunities to Advance Behavioral Health Services in NYC
Through the generous support of The Carmel Hill Fund, the TEAM UP Center undertook a project to explore opportunities to advance behavioral health services in New York City (NYC). We completed a practice-level needs assessment coupled with a system-level landscape analysis and stakeholder interviews to produce the NYC TEAM UP Roadmap. As a private foundation, The Carmel Hill Fund is focused on helping young people, especially those growing up in vulnerable circumstances, become voracious readers who also have the skills, relationships, nurturing environments, and supports to become emotionally thriving adults. The project was designed to develop a comprehensive understanding of the NYC environment and identify potential opportunities for TEAM UP to contribute to the city’s response to the children’s mental health crisis. A summary of this work is outlined in the NYC TEAM UP Roadmap.

This case study explores the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder within a community health center partnering with the TEAM UP Center. Highlights within the case study include the benefits of working within an integrated behavioral health care team and the critical role of the Community Health Worker.

This report summarizes the overall, peer-reviewed findings to date with respect to key domains of impact and implementation. In the report, key findings are described of each individual report produced at the conclusion of a five-year TEAM UP implementation period that engaged the second cohort of TEAM UP Legacy Practices: Brockton Neighborhood Health Center, DotHouse Health, New Bedford Community Health, South Boston Community Health Center.

This report highlights initial learnings and describes both the investment decisions and the initiative design choices made by the funders—the Richard and Susan Smith Family Foundation and The Klarman Family Foundation—and key partners as they worked to build TEAM UP and position it to succeed in health centers across a variety of communities and with different levels of experience delivering integrated behavioral health care.

BRANCH (Building Resilience And Nurturing CHildren) is a brief trauma-informed, extended screening and assessment intervention developed for integrated behavioral health clinicians (BHCs) who practice in primary care pediatric settings. This report provides a summary of BRANCH’s development and implementation during the period of September 2017-May 2020.
