Ruben G. Martinez, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and the Training Director of the Brown Research on Implementation and Dissemination to Guide Evidence Use Program. He also serves as Lead for Implementation for the Advance RI-CTR and Vice-Chair of the American Psychological Association’s Advisory Committee for Measurement-Based Care and the Mental and Behavioral Health Registry. Dr. Martinez supports the TEAM UP Center evaluation team as a Faculty Researcher.
Dr. Martinez is a licensed clinical psychologist who worked for 7 years as a mental health clinician in pediatric and family medicine primary care. As a researcher, Dr. Martinez’s work leverages equity-focused implementation methods to improve systems of care for youth experiencing health and mental health problems. He provides consultation, mentorship, and training in implementation science, and he collaborates on federally funded projects spanning youth mental health, HIV prevention, nutrition equity, and post-injury care. His work developing innovative, equity-grounded methods aims to advance both research and practice while strengthening interdisciplinary collaborations across healthcare, education, and community systems.
