Adults have a responsibility to respond appropriately and effectively to any suspicions of child maltreatment. In this training, participants will learn how to respond to a concern or disclosure of abuse in-the-moment, how to best communicate with caregivers with child safety in mind, and how the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) coordinates the multidisciplinary team response to reports of child abuse in Suffolk County. Participants will learn about how they can be part of this streamlined response that benefits children and families impacted by abuse, as well as what medical services the CAC provides for child abuse victims.
